Buenos Aires

Leaving El Calafate and its glorious glaciers behind. Here the river that carries the run-off from those glaciers and mountains.

After Ushuaia and El Calafate, this huge city was a shock, but different enough to be worth exploring, within reason. This is where the hostel is located.

The girls, the fashions, the shops, the street vendors and artists made me feel like a country bumpkin, but I adapt quickly.

The sights are great, the weather pleasant, and in many ways this city reminded me of Santiago, high energy, alive, and vibrant.

A Cuban restaurant. At first glance I thought Castro was giving us the finger. Might as well, with his new buddy over here in the US, he won the war, at long last.

It was the end of the day and everyone was going somewhere, except for the fat man, standing there blowing bubbles.

There was some model shoot going on here, at this great plaza, with them dressed in period clothing.

Nearby, a bicentennial museum
